Overview The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the healthcare facility. This leadership position requires a strong commitment to excellence in nursing practice, effective management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of medical protocols. The DON will be responsible for fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional development and adherence to regulatory standards. This position is ideal for an experienced nursing leader who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through effective management and innovative care strategies.

Duties:

• Management level nursing position that maintains direct contact with patients and integration with patient care
• Responsible for coordinating, training, scheduling, and team development among the nursing staff
• Manages the continuing education of the nursing staff
• Maintains an ongoing quality assurance program
• Assists in planning the nursing services portion of resident discharge plans
• Leads others through actions consistent with and serve our culture
• Participates in facility surveys by government agencies

Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility
• 1 year of Director of Nursing (DON)/ Management experience
• Service-oriented (positive, enthusiastic, empathetic and respectful demeanor)
• Able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
