CareCore at Mentor is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist. This is a great opportunity for an RN with strong long-term care experience who enjoys being hands-on, supporting clinical staff, and maintaining high standards for infection prevention, resident care, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with day-to-day clinical operations Serve as the facility's Infection Preventionist Monitor, track, and investigate infections and infection trends Maintain infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and documentation Provide infection control education and training to staff Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance Support nursing staff through education, coaching, and clinical oversight Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and resident care reviews Assist with staffing, employee performance, and clinical concerns as needed Provide leadership coverage and support to the DON and nursing department Qualifications Active Ohio RN license required Previous long-term care/skilled nursing experience required Infection prevention/control experience strongly preferred Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of state and federal LTC regulations PCC/PointClickCare experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Must be comfortable working collaboratively and providing hands-on support when needed What We Offer Comprehensive benefits package 401(k) with Company Match Paid holidays and PTO Supportive leadership team Opportunities for professional growth and advancement A hands-on role where you can make a direct impact on resident care and clinical outcomes Join the team at CareCore at Mentor and take the next step in your nursing leadership career!
