Our Mission is to eliminate gaps in health outcomes for all members of our community by providing access to quality, affordable, preventive and primary health care. Join our Team We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team! In this key role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to plan, develop, and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed staff who provide healthcare to our patients. As ADON, you will take an active role in ensuring the highest quality of patient services, guiding and mentoring the medical support teams, and promoting a positive, collaborative work environment. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing is preferred. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed practical nurse in the State of Ohio.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Successful completion of in-house training.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience in Nursing preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES
CPR
  • BLS (basic life support) required.
Good critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people. Good planning and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of computers and healthcare software. The ability to work under stressful conditions. Self-directed and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative and follow-through Demonstrated relationship building and maintenance skills, including empowering and developing others, conflict management, and fostering cooperation. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Apply knowledge, skills and experience, in a way that is informed by professional standards, laws and ethical principles, to develop an opinion or decision about what should be done to best serve our patients. Possesses the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the medical department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Provide training to support staff to meet job duty goals. Supervise and guide support staff on their daily job duties. Manage clinical operations at each site in that region. Ensure support staff follow departmental procedures and policies. Conduct weekly site visits to each location in their region. Evaluate the performance of the support staff and recommend improvements. Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize their contributions. Assist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the medical department. Assist with the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, and policies and procedures in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Recommend establishment or revision of policies, procedures, and methods and develop organizational structure and standards of performance. Provide reports/recommendations as needed/required for the Director of Nursing concerning the operation of the medical department. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing performs the duties of the Director. Assist the Director of Nursing in the design, implementation, and evaluation of nursing systems that ensures consistent delivery of care and maintains and promotes patients' rights. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is mostly sedentary demanding sitting, some walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination normally associated with duties in an office setting will be performed on a repetitive basis. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
