is seeking an experienced, self-motivated and professionally driven

DIRECTOR OF NURSING

(DON) with the highest level of integrity, a work history that demonstrates their dedication to the profession, and has the necessary abilities to accomplish the organizational goals as assigned. This position is tasked with creating a caring and compassionate team of professional clinicians to make up this Nursing Department. The DON is responsible for directing all the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department and coordinating the nursing department's interactions with the other departments. The DON will assure the delivery of safe and effective nursing care for all residents as well as managing all aspects of staffing, budgeting, and nursing processes and practices within the department. This position is located in Toledo, Ohio.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

• Minimum of a Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited College or University
• Must hold a current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio
• Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a supervisor/unit manager in a hospital, skilled nursing, or rehabilitative setting
• Must have extensive supervisory experience in the skilled nursing industry
• Must be CPR certified or obtain certification during probationary period

Specific Job Requirements:

• Must have an expert level of knowledge in the skilled nursing facility industry (practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern long-term care)
• Must possess experience with regulatory compliance and authoring comprehensive plans of correction resolving state survey deficiencies
• Must be able to make the difficult but appropriate decisions independently when the situation dictates
• Must be able to fairly and consistently administer organizational policy and procedures without prejudice.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality related to HIPAA, human resources or other privileged information that you will be required to access
• Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen
• Must set an example by holding yourself accountable to the same rules and policies as the staff you supervise

Essential Functions:

Must be able to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, establish benchmarks, and direct staff. Must be able to recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise nursing staff. Must be able to determine appropriate staffing levels Must be able to direct care provided by nursing staff Must be able to perform the functions of a staff nurse as required Must be able to effectively manage and operate within budget Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and decisive judgment Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours Other duties as assigned We are an equal opportunity employer and drug-free facility.
