Skilled Nursing Facility Location:
Lehigh Valley, PA A reputable skilled nursing facility is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee all nursing operations. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is survey-focused, team-oriented, and experienced in managing nursing services in a post-acute or long-term care environment. This is a blind posting. Facility details will be shared with qualified candidates during the interview process.
Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services. This includes clinical quality oversight, regulatory compliance, staffing leadership, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure excellent resident care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all nursing department operations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Lead survey readiness and regulatory response efforts Supervise nurse managers, supervisors, and unit leaders Manage staffing models, coverage, and clinical labor oversight Monitor and improve clinical quality measures and outcomes Oversee infection control and risk management programs Develop and enforce nursing policies and procedures Lead staff education, coaching, and performance management Partner with administration and department heads on facility initiatives Participate in budgeting and resource planning for nursing services
Qualifications:
Active RN license required Prior DON or Assistant Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility strongly preferred Proven experience with state surveys and regulatory compliance Strong leadership and staff development skills Experience managing clinical quality indicators and care standards Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
