Director of Nursing - Nursing Home Located near
Ashley, PA Salary:
Based on experience An elegant long term care, skilled nursing facility located near Ashley, PA is looking for a compassionate and professional Director of Nursing that will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Nursing Department, and will work with the Unit Managers and the Administrator to help drive the overall success of the facility. Responsibilities of theDirector of Nursing:
Participate in the interviewing and selection of residents for admission to the facility. Complete the admission assessment of the resident, including resident care planning. Evaluate effects of care delivered and assign special treatments when indicated. Assure resident safety through nursing staff. Provide resident and family teaching and counseling as necessary. Participate in establishing and managing annual budget for Nursing. Integrate and coordinate care with other disciplines, including physicians. Determine and schedule the staffing needs to meet the total care needs of the residents. Responsible for the recruitment and selection of resident care personnel. Develop, implement and maintain an effective staff orientation program. Make daily rounds to ensure the performance of staff and the well-being of the resident. Assist in the evaluation of resident care personnel. Review complaints made by personnel, residents or visitors. Ensure that personnel follow established departmental policies and procedures, and provide discipline as necessary. Ensure that staff disciplinary action is administered consistently pursuant to company policy. MaintainCONFIDENTIALITY
of all resident care information. Ensure that all resident care personnel are knowledgeable of the resident's rights. Monitor resident care to assure that all residents are treated fairly and with kindness, dignity and respect. Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary. Attend Rehab. Meetings and assist in determining Medicare A&B of residents. Conduct staff meetings and in-service education. Provide tours of the facility and an explanation of the admission procedure to prospective residents and family members when Social Services staff is unavailable. React calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in English. Review invoices and Med-B forms for billing. Coordinate Quality of Care and Infection Control sub-committees of Quality Assurance Committee. Update department's policies and procedures manual at least annually. Practices safe working habits. Requirements of theDirector of Nursing:
Must have current Pennsylvania RN license Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have prior experience as a Director of Nursing in a long-term care setting Must have long term care/nursing home experience CPR certification Must have strong clinical background Valid Pennsylvania drivers' license Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent leadership skills Hudson View Network is a medical recruiting firm whose goal is to bridge exceptional talent to superior institutions.
