DON Director of Nursing - Job Description The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant patient/resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and care standards. Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations. Monitor patient/resident care, safety, and quality outcomes. Manage staffing, scheduling, orientation, and staff development. Conduct performance evaluations and address staff concerns. Collaborate with physicians, administrators, residents, families, and other departments. Review clinical documentation, assessments, care plans, and incident reports. Monitor infection prevention, medication management, and quality improvement programs. Participate in audits, surveys, and regulatory inspections.
