Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration and management, with a focus on enhancing resident rights and quality of care in a nursing home or acute care setting. This leadership role requires excellent supervisory skills, shift management capabilities, and a commitment to compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations. Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and quality patient care. Advocate for resident rights and ensure that all staff members adhere to these principles. Conduct assessments using the Minimum Data Set (MDS) to evaluate resident needs and develop appropriate care plans. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and coordinate care across various settings, including home health services. Monitor clinical practices to maintain high standards of nursing care and implement quality improvement initiatives. Stay current with best practices in nursing management and participate in ongoing professional development. Experience Proven experience in nursing administration or management within a healthcare setting is essential. Strong background in supervising nursing staff, particularly in a nursing home or acute care environment. Familiarity with MDS assessments and documentation processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of resident rights, HIPAA regulations, and other relevant healthcare laws is required. Experience in home health services is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively are crucial for success in this role.
