Non-Profit Faith-Based Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in the planning, organization, development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services within the long-term-care facility. The ADON provides clinical and administrative leadership to nursing staff and promotes a culture of compassionate, person-centered care. The ADON serves as a key member of the nursing leadership team and assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing when the DON is unavailable. Why Join Our Team? Essential Responsibilities Clinical Leadership and Resident Care Assist the DON with oversight of daily nursing operations and resident care. Conduct regular rounds to evaluate resident condition, quality of care, staff performance, and adherence to care plans. Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate notification of physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Review admissions, transfers, hospital returns, assessments, care plans, documentation, and clinical outcomes as assigned. Assist with oversight of medication management, treatments, wounds, infection prevention, falls, weight loss, and other clinical quality indicators. Staff Leadership and Development Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientation, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations. Identify staff education and competency needs and assist with development and implementation of inservice education. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance Monitor documentation and clinical practices for regulatory compliance. Participate in incident and accident investigations and follow required reporting procedures. Infection Prevention and Safety Support the facility's infection prevention and control program. Monitor infectioncontrol practices and participate in surveillance and prevention activities. Assist with staff education related to infection prevention, emergency preparedness, resident safety, and clinical competencies. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania. Previous longtermcare/skillednursing experience required or strongly preferred. Previous nursing supervisory or management experience preferred. Working knowledge of Pennsylvania and federal longtermcare regulations. Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and problemsolving skills. Experience in staff education, competency assessment, and performance management.
