Accountable for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating and ensuring high-quality resident care within established budgetary guidelines. Provides development of resident, staff education, leadership and acts as a resource to the nursing staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing fosters effective communication and collaboration among nursing personnel, medical staff, residents, and their families to promote a positive and supportive care environment.JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Job Functions:
Assists Director of Nursing with setting standards for resident care which reflect the stated philosophy and fulfills accrediting agencies' requirements. Develop/Identify areas of educational needs and in-service programs, training staff and coordinating the completion of the programs for current/new staff and agency staff. Assists DON with Performance Evaluations, Counseling, communication and supervision of Nursing and CNA staff. Make rounds to each resident at least weekly assessing and determining special care needs in consultation with the charge nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Reads reports daily. Supports coordination and execution of monthly laboratory collections. Available for two/three shift a week to work as a charge nurse. Required to work every third weekend and participate in a holiday rotation schedule, including on-call responsibilities during assigned weekends Completes DOH reports per Regulations. Clinically astute to physiological changes impacting the resident condition and in acting on observations regarding resident conditions. Assists with the evaluation of staffing and resident care assignments and the adequacy of nursing documentation on resident records and care plans in an ongoing manner. Assist with implementing set standards for resident care which reflect the stated philosophy and fulfills accrediting agencies' requirements. Supports, promotes, and protects Resident Rights. Bachelor's or AssociatesRequired License/Certification/Registration:
Registered Nurse (RN)Board of Nursing Experience :
Clinical, 3-years- LTC, Leadership position.
