In this purpose driven role, you will: The Assistant Director of Nursing - RN plays a vital leadership role within the skilled nursing facility, supporting clinical operations while ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development. This position serves as a key liaison between nursing leadership and frontline staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Promote continuity of care by coordinating nursing services with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, residents, and families. Assess staffing needs; participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training nursing staff to ensure appropriate coverage across all shifts. Develop staff schedules and assignments; monitor performance to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery. Support daily facility start-up and assist with the implementation and monitoring of the nursing department's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Serve on the Quality Assurance Committee and other interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical excellence and regulatory readiness. Assist in reviewing clinical records, audits, and consultant reports; help develop and implement corrective action plans. Provide support with MDS assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation as needed. Review compliance reports and ensure nursing services consistently meet regulatory and accreditation standards. Participate in the facility's on-call rotation and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). Completed an LVN program at an accredited vocational school or college. Active License Vocation Nurse in the state of Texas in good standing. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Why Work for Wellsential Health?
