EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma or degree. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia. CPR/AED certification required. 5+ years of licensed nursing experience. Minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred. Job Duties Assists the Director of Nursing in all areas of Nursing Services management. Assumes the role of Acting Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Responsible for oversight of the clinical operations throughout the designated areas of the community, including daily rounds for supervision of service resident status, environment, and safety issues. Responsible for reviewing, developing, and revising policies and procedures. Responsible for assisting in the evaluation of nursing practice for all nursing team members to determine that all operating policies and procedures are being followed and comply with state and federal regulations. Maintains open communication with team members, residents, families, volunteers, and others throughout the community. Provide supervision and oversight to assigned team members. Participates in the Quality Assurance and Process Improvement program (QAPI). Assists Director of Nursing by attending various meetings throughout the community conducts interviews, counsels clinical team members, and reviews medical information of applicants for Health Services. Acts as liaison between Nursing and other departments. Works with appropriate team members to plan wellness programing and work with outside students and agencies. Assists Director of Nursing with budgetary controls and inventory process. Assumes responsibility of Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, and Clinical Leader's duties in their absence. Attends mandatory in-services and completes Relias/Learning in-services as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced in-depth and practical knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within nursing. Has in-depth conceptual and practical experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Acquired specialized knowledge of disease processes and treatments. Able to read, write and communicate using the English language. Ability to assess, develop, and carry out resident plan, if necessary, and primarily provide leadership and guidance to team members. Problem solving is typically complex in nature and utilized when needed. Ability to use senior level expertise to resolve issues. Will provide guidance to lower-level nurses and Nursing Supervisor. Ability to handle every type of resident problem and scenario.

May include frequent lifting (up to 50lbs). Extensive walking, bending, stooping, standing. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks. Ability to work inside and outside to effectively make rounds daily throughout the facility and to respond to problems and emergencies.
