1024063 Position Summary Phoenix Children's is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Manager to help lead the development, staffing, and operational readiness of our new East Valley Campus. This is a unique opportunity for a pediatric respiratory leader to play a key role in launching a new hospital campus while building a high-performing respiratory care team from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with demonstrated experience supervising Respiratory Therapists, managing day-to-day operations, and supporting high-acuity pediatric patient populations. Candidates must have a strong clinical background in both NICU and Labor & Delivery, as these specialties are required for the role. NRP certification is also required. This leader will partner closely with system and clinical leadership teams to support recruitment, onboarding, education, operational planning, equipment readiness, quality initiatives, and the successful launch of Respiratory Care Services at East Valley. The selected candidate will initially support operations and training at the Thomas Campus while helping prepare for the East Valley opening. Key Responsibilities- Lead daily Respiratory Care operations and staff
- Build and develop a highly engaged Respiratory Therapy team
- Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention strategies
- Provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, and leadership development
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental operations
- Drive quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary leaders to optimize patient care and operational readiness
- Maintain 24/7 accountability for department operations
- Support East Valley startup initiatives, including equipment planning, education, workflow development, and operational readiness activities
- Serve as a visible, hands-on leader who can provide clinical support when needed Required Experience
- Minimum of five years of Respiratory Therapy experience, including leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities
- NICU experience required
- Labor & Delivery experience required
- NRP certification required
- Experience leading Respiratory Therapy teams and day-to-day department operations
