View More Jobs Director Rehab Therapy Lafayette, LA, United States Job Description This position will provide leadership and accountability in the daily operations of the Rehab Therapy Departments (Inpatient and Outpatient). The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the provision of services in the Rehab Therapy Department. Will participate in and/supervise the delivery of patient care, as necessary, and has the responsibility for establishing standards of practice for the Rehab Therapy Departments Responsibilities
TECHNICAL TASKS
Maintains timely and complete documentation relating to personnel files. Coordinates data collection on a monthly or quarterly basis, as required, organizes all data collected, prepares reports for hospital PI department Performs duties of staff therapist, specifically direct patient care, as needed for schedule overflow, days off, census changes, etc.
CRITICAL THINKING
Identifies the number and level of personnel needed to provide quality patient care by determining activity/guidelines for department. Maintains staffing levels within established hospital benchmarks agreed upon at budget time or when administrative revisions are done. Improvement programs throughout the Respiratory Department Examines the delivery of patient care and identifies problems and any need for improvements Provides and proposed educational programs to hospital employees, medical staff and community on items that will help promote the department and the hospital. Plans and arranges for department meetings that are educational, problem solving and informative Assesses the need and participates in the budgetary process for the fiscal year Facilitates quality improvement process as related to improving patient care. Administer and supervises the services of the department to render quality patient care and holds self and staff accountable for the delivery of that care. Monitors the expenditures/revenue of the department. Maintains expenditures within budget guidelines to include volume. Oversees the process of orienting new employees, provides assistance in development of competencies specific to the department. Evaluate performance of personnel Develops, implements and revises policies and procedures, standards of care, standards of practice particular to the scope of care provided by the department Reviews customer satisfaction reports and addresses areas that need improvement
