We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation to lead our in-house rehabilitation department and help ensure exceptional clinical outcomes and resident experiences. Position Summary The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and day-to-day operations of rehabilitation services within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This position provides clinical and operational leadership to the therapy team while collaborating closely with nursing, physicians, social services, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is an experienced rehabilitation professional and strong leader who is passionate about providing quality, resident-centered care while developing and supporting a high-performing therapy team. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to rehabilitation staff. Ensure residents receive appropriate evaluations, individualized treatment plans, and timely interventions based on their clinical needs. Monitor resident progress and ensure appropriate communication with residents, families, nursing, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Promote a collaborative approach to care and participate in interdisciplinary care planning and meetings. Ensure therapy services are provided in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations, professional standards, and facility policies. Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Track department performance, productivity, staffing, and other operational metrics. Assist with staffing, scheduling, recruitment, orientation, training, and performance management of rehabilitation team members. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, and referral partners. Identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes, resident satisfaction, efficiency, and overall quality of rehabilitation services. Ensure appropriate coordination of services for residents transitioning between the hospital, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and other levels of care. Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive environment within the rehabilitation department. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives as appropriate. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Current licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan. Previous rehabilitation leadership or management experience strongly preferred. Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, post-acute care, long-term care, or senior living environment preferred. Strong knowledge of rehabilitation practices, interdisciplinary care, documentation requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with nursing, medical providers, residents, families, and other departments. Strong understanding of person-centered care and a commitment to maintaining resident dignity and quality of life. Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.
