Job Description

Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) Full-Time | Exempt | Leadership Role We are seeking an experienced and clinically strong Director of Rehabilitation to lead and manage all rehabilitation services within the facility. This role is responsible for overseeing therapy programs, staffing, compliance, and outcomes while ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care and adherence to federal and state regulations. This position is ideal for a licensed therapist with leadership experience who values accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all rehabilitation services and programs Oversee rehab staffing, productivity, and scheduling to meet clinical and operational needs Provide direct patient care within licensed discipline as required Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable reimbursement regulations Monitor documentation, billing accuracy, and timely submission of therapy services Participate in facility quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Collaborate with nursing, administration, and interdisciplinary teams Lead orientation, training, and ongoing development of rehab staff Monitor departmental budgets, revenue, and expenses Support survey readiness, audits, and regulatory compliance Maintain equipment, therapy spaces, and safety standards Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology program Current, active state license in discipline practiced Prior rehabilitation leadership or management experience preferred Strong knowledge of therapy regulations, reimbursement, and documentation standards Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment Physical Requirements Standing, walking, bending, and lifting as required for patient care Ability to assist and support residents during therapy sessions Exposure to clinical environments and healthcare equipment Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
