We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation to lead rehabilitation services within a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient setting in Nebraska. This leadership role is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) who is passionate about clinical excellence, program development, staff leadership, and delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Position Overview The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical quality, strategic growth, and performance of the rehabilitation department. This position provides leadership to physical, occupational, and speech therapy staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across inpatient and outpatient services. The Director will collaborate with hospital leadership, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to support operational excellence and positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all rehabilitation services within the hospital's inpatient and outpatient departments. Lead, mentor, and support rehabilitation staff, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and therapy support personnel. Manage departmental operations, staffing, scheduling, productivity, budgeting, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, accreditation standards, and federal guidelines. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, case managers, and hospital administration to coordinate patient care. Monitor patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and departmental performance indicators. Participate in strategic planning, program development, and service line expansion initiatives. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of rehabilitation staff. Maintain accurate departmental reporting, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance. Provide direct patient care as needed within the scope of licensure. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program. Current and unrestricted Nebraska Physical Therapist License or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE) and fulfillment of all Nebraska licensure requirements. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient setting preferred. Previous rehabilitation leadership, supervisory, management, or Director-level experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of hospital rehabilitation operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Current CPR/BLS certification required.
