As Director of Rehabilitation Services, you'll play a key role in advancing rehabilitation programs, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring outstanding care for patients throughout their recovery journey.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee implementation of budget process for area of responsibility and monitors compliance with budgetary objectives.
  • Rotates through selected treatment areas when necessary to facilitate organizational needs.
  • Assists the Regional director in the disciplinary process as appropriate.
  • Delegates performance reviews to Senior Staff appropriately.
  • Oversee the implementation of program and activities, to achieve improvement in organizational performance related to clinical, service, and financial outcomes.
  • Oversees the daily operations of patient care services in their respective facility. This may include; addressing daily staffing needs, developing staffing schedules, review and approval of time off requests, and participating in the interviewing/selection process for their respective facility.
  • Performs PT, OT and/or SLP assessments, reassessment and treatment and supervises PT and/or OT assistants in the treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients referred by a physician to the clinic. Develops plan of care including goals and treatment plan in accordance with physician referral, nature of injury/illness and results of PT, OT and/or SLP assessment.
  • Actively participates in human resources management for your area of responsibility, including but not limited to the following areas: selection/placement (interviewing/hiring); orientation of all facility staff, performance management (evaluation/competency assessment/improvement plans), and employee relations (including disciplinary action and conflict resolution).
Consults with human resources representative and/or POD director when dealing with these matters to ensure compliance on internal (policies/practices) and external (legal and regulatory) matters. Conduct continuing education, competency assessments, performance evaluations, counsels employees and administers disciplinary actions as required.
  • Oversees program development. This may include; development and implementation of patient care teams and specific orientation and/or reference manuals for their respective facility. Objectively identifies and analyzes the source of problems, develops innovative approaches to problem solving and implements appropriate change.
  • Modifies or adjusts plan of care based on patient's response to treatment and/or changes in patient's status. Works PTAs and COTAs to adjust patient programs as patient status changes.
  • Work with respective department heads and/or key department personnel to achieve compliance with hospital policies and procedures, consistent with the mission, vision, and strategic initiatives of the hospital, making appropriate recommendations to Executive Leadership as appropriate.
Additional Role Details:
This has responsibility for inpatient and outpatient rehab services to include, PT/OT/SLT. There is some union staff in the departments so previous union staff management is a plus.
Schedule:
Primarily Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM but is responsible for the department 24/7. Travel to outpatient clinic and UPMC Greene as needed. Travel may be required for service line meetings within the Pittsburgh area.
