An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

Overview Responsibilities Learns to perform diagnostic vascular procedures according to hospital and accreditation standards and providing an accurate preliminary interpretation.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
One of the following: Graduate of an accredited Vascular Tech program One year of field experience if not a graduate of a school designed for vascular technology In addition, 100 or more studies each performed in carotid duplex, venous duplex and arterial non-imaging exams to ensure Clinical competency in carotid duplex, arterial non-imaging, and lower extremity venous duplex
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
BLS One of the following: Registered Vascular Technologist through ARDMS Registered Vascular Sonographer through CCI If not currently registered: Must be registry eligible at time of placement in position Registry must be obtained within 6 months of placement in position
