EEG Tech Trainee Internal Only Location Coeur d'Alene, ID Facility Kootenai Health Department Neurodiagnostics Schedule/Shift/Hours PRN - (As Needed) - Variable Category Technical/Professional Hours Per Pay Period 0.0 = PRN Req #: 48800 Apply Now Save Job Saved EEG Tech Trainee Position Summary Under direct supervision of the R.EEG Technologist preceptor, EEG Technologist Coordinator and/or department manager, learns to perform routine inpatient and outpatient EEG and LTM on all ages. Responsibilities
- Assists with patient intakes and preparations for EEG testing
- Documents patient information and pertinent patient history
- Performs electrode measuring, mapping, and application utilizing International 10/20 system
- Operates and monitors EEG equipment during recording following ACNS guidelines
- Performs basic data analysis related to EEG waveforms
- Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment, supplies, and patient care areas as needed
- Maintains appropriate use of PPE
- Ensures patient comfort and safety during testing
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- Current student enrolled in Neurodiagnostic program
- Completion of college-level courses in anatomy and physiology, basic electronics and medical terminology preferred
- Experience in a patient care setting preferred Working Conditions
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
