An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

Know Your Team:
Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence-recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Radiologist and Director of the CV Service Line, performs all routine diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic special procedures. Produces quality images while applying both radiation and physical safety measures. Collects patient data and documents procedures. Performs all necessary special procedure radiographic procedures. Assists physicians with fluoroscopic procedures. Performance Improvement Participation.
Qualifications Job Requirements :
Certification and current registration for Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible, and must be obtained within 90-days of hire. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire and maintain as current . Attend a 6-lead EKG course within 6 months of hire.
