An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

Job Description

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course: Electrocardiograph (ECG/EKG)
Technician Important:
Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
The ability to teach 60 hours (5 days a week, during the day for 5 hours a day for 12 sessions) which includes the following subject areas: Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology Safe and Accurate use of the EKG device: including basic trouble shooting and interpretation of EKG rhythms
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent Previous teaching experience Experience teaching adult learners Three (3) years of experience working as an ECG/EKG clinical supervisor or technician Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy Current certification as an ECG/EKG Technician or as a provider requiring ECG/EKG skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Experience teaching in higher education

WDLL is current seeking an ECG/EKG Technician instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy campuses. Please note that this is a pooled position for instructors.
