Job Description

About the Role The main responsibility of the EKG Technician is to conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) to produce graphic recordings of the heart's electrical activity, as monitored by the Cardiovascular Coordinator. The technician is equipped with the necessary education, skills, and experience to care for patients across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly. What You'll Do Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) to capture detailed tracings of the heart's electrical signals. Support the Cardiovascular Coordinator by providing accurate and timely EKG results. Apply specialized knowledge and training to ensure high-quality patient care. Deliver services to a diverse patient population, ranging from newborns to elderly individuals. Maintain competency in EKG procedures and adapt techniques to meet age-specific needs What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent certification program required. Completion of an accredited electrocardiography school/program is required to demonstrate certification. Certification in electrocardiography is preferred. CPR certification is required. Successful completion of a basic ECG interpretation course is required. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience required. Must be physically able to walk through nursing units while maneuvering the EKG cart. Must be capable of performing electrocardiograms on patients of all ages. Must possess clerical skills to complete charge sheets and track daily work volume. Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties.
