An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Ekg Technician Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Completion of an EKG certification program (or on-the-job training program) Completion of a basic arrhythmia recognition course CCT credential a plus BLS certification (within three months of hire) Experience in healthcare (1 year preferred) Familiarity with basic medical terminology RSWH
