Job Description

Job Summary The Registered Vascular Technologist for National Vascular Associates' Richmond region is responsible for independently conducting professional-level assessments and performing a range of non-invasive diagnostic studies using ultrasound and related technologies. The sonographer records and analyzes results, providing preliminary clinical impressions that guide patient care. This role requires effective communication with providers, adherence to professional documentation standards, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This position consists of three 10-hour shifts per week, with scheduled work at the Midlothian location on Wednesdays and at the Petersburg location on Thursdays and Fridays.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform vascular imaging studies using sonography and related imaging modalities to assess vascular conditions and identify abnormalities. Verify and confirm patient orders, ensuring the appropriate diagnostic tests are performed. Work closely and professionally with healthcare providers to communicate preliminary findings and support patient care. Prepare detailed preliminary reports for physician interpretation, utilizing accurate medical terminology and comprehensive documentation. Apply in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular conditions to interpret imaging results and provide accurate clinical information. Request maintenance work orders to ensure diagnostic equipment is in optimal working condition and maintain a clean and organized exam area. Accurately input and process data in the electronic reporting system to complete report templates. Collaborate with other teams within the organization to resolve any discrepancies related to billing, coding, or documentation. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Must have completed an accredited Vascular Technology program. Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required. Proficient in performing vascular sonography and interpreting imaging results. Must be reliable and a team player. Minimum of 2 years experience. Must be able to work independently. Strong understanding of medical terminology for effective communication with healthcare professionals. Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to vascular conditions.
