SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• 1 Performs non-invasive peripheral testing to evaluate the hemodynamics of patients' arterial, venous and/or cerebrovascular circulation by utilizing Doppler ultrasound, plethysmography, duplex imaging and sound spectrum analysis according to the Policies and Procedures Manual; ensuring digital images obtained and sent to PACS per IAC (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories) protocol. 2 Is responsible for the test results, preparation of data, preliminary report writing and transmission of data to physician and reporting software. 3 Obtains brief history and relevant patient history, physical examination and reasons for the testing to be performed, records data and determines the appropriate testing to be performed. 4 Pursues professional development to prepare for additional responsibilities and improve current job performance by participating in educational meetings, independent study and maintaining appropriate certification and continuing education. 5 Maintains lab equipment to ensure optimal functioning inspecting for breakdown, trouble-shooting and communicating with appropriate repair persons. 6 Restocks work areas with necessary supplies. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety. 7 Submits activity reports as requested. 8 Participates in any function deemed necessary to the smooth function of the lab. This includes, but is not limited to, answering the telephone, providing transport of patients as needed for comfort, moving of equipment, stocking supplies, unpacking and putting away delivered supplies, etc.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION
Required•High School Diploma Preferred•Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health or Nursing
EXPERIENCE
Required•Certification with American Registry and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or obtained within 6 months of hire. Preferred•Registered Vascular Technologist with two years experience.
