Description Position Overview:
The EEG Technologist will independently perform routine and advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG and evoked potentials, in inpatient, outpatient, and critical care settings. The technologist ensures accurate data acquisition, patient safety, and adherence to VA clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and complex EEG studies Conduct evoked potential (EP) procedures (VEP, BAEP, SSEP, etc.) Perform EEGs in ICU, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings Support long‑term monitoring (LTM / video EEG) Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety Apply electrodes using the international 10-20 system Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot EEG/EP equipment Document findings and maintain accurate patient records Collaborate with Neurology, Epilepsy, ICU, ED, and OR teams Follow VA protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures
Required Qualifications:
BLS and ACLS required (AHA preferred) EEG certification through ABRET or AAET Minimum two (1) years of EEG experience (2 years preferred) Hospital‑based EEG experience (ICU, inpatient, outpatient) Ability to perform EEG procedures independently Long‑term monitoring (LTM / video EEG) experience
Hours of Operation:
0700
  • 1530 or 0730
  • 1600 Some flexibility is important as there is opportunity for Overtime after hours and rare weekend days depending on caseload. Salary $30
  • $40 per hour
