An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

Job Description
Work Schedule :
Days, 40 hours per week, Monday
•Friday, 8:00AM
•4:30PM with Night/Weekend/Holiday on-call rotation, 45-minute call response time. You may be eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE). You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI, with services also provided at various other UW Health locations in Madison.

The pay range listed reflects both titles. I / IONM
Technologist II to: Be part of a high-level, superior quality, patient care IONM team. Perform complex monitoring for both adult and pediatric populations. Services include but are not limited to Neurosurgery, Ortho-spine and Vascular. Be proficient in all IONM modalities. New Grads are welcome! Qualifications Minimum
•Graduation from an approved Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program OR Credential in Electroencephalography (R.EEG.T) Preferred
•Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program AND two years' experience performing IONM procedures
Work Experience :
Minimum
•One year combination of training and experience performing IONM and/or EEG procedures; in lieu of training and experience from educational requirements above qualifies Preferred
•Two years combination of training and experience performing IONM procedures.
Certifications:
Minimum
•CPR certification Preferred
