Job Description
Classes to become an EMT (FREE if you work for our company) ; See below the duties of an EMT. This is an internship program. Classes are Tuesday, Thursday and one Sunday a month from 9am to 3pm. We do offer some employment oppertunities for students but based on availability. Overview The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Working in a fast-paced environment, EMTs are often the first responders to medical emergencies, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety and the ability to perform under pressure, making it essential for candidates to have a solid understanding of emergency medicine practices. Duties Assess patients' conditions by performing thorough patient assessments and obtaining vital signs. Provide emergency care and treatment, including triage of patients in various settings such as hospitals, urgent care facilities, and Level II Trauma Centers. Drive emergency vehicles safely and efficiently to transport patients to medical facilities. Administer basic life support techniques and assist with advanced procedures as directed by medical personnel. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care during emergencies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and treatment provided during transport. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in emergency medicine. Skills Proficient in patient assessment techniques and understanding of vital signs. Knowledgeable in triage protocols and emergency response procedures. Experience working in an ER or urgent care setting is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations. Commitment to providing compassionate patient care while adhering to safety protocols. Valid EMT certification and driving license required.
