As an EMT at Priority Ambulance Transfer, you will provide basic life support care and safe, efficient patient transport across the Greater Houston area. You'll be the face of Priority at hospitals, nursing facilities, and dialysis centers — delivering excellent patient care and customer service on every call. This is a great role for new EMTs building experience as well as seasoned providers who take pride in patient transport done right. Key Responsibilities Provide basic life support (BLS) care to patients during transport, within scope of practice and per medical director protocols. Perform patient assessments, obtain and monitor vital signs, and administer oxygen and BLS interventions as indicated. Safely move patients using stretchers, stair chairs, wheelchairs, and other patient-handling equipment. Assist paramedic partners on ALS and MICU transports as directed. Safely operate and navigate ambulances in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company driving policy. Complete accurate, timely, and thorough patient care reports (ePCR). Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family members, facility staff, and dispatch. Maintain on-time performance and keep dispatch informed of unit status throughout the shift. Inspect, stock, clean, and maintain unit readiness and equipment at the start and end of each shift. Participate in ongoing training, skills verification, and continuing education programs. Required Qualifications Current Texas DSHS certification as an EMT (EMT-B) Current AHA BLS certification Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical/lift assessment Professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation Preferred Qualifications National Registry (NREMT) certification Prior medical transport, 911, or healthcare experience EVOC or equivalent emergency vehicle operations training Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull in excess of 100 lbs with assistance (stretcher operations); bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces; sit or stand for extended periods; and work in variable weather and patient care environments.
