Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals with patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation using clinical information systems. Perform venipuncture and specimen collection accurately and aseptically for laboratory testing. Support cardiac event monitoring, EKG procedures, and cardiac rhythm analysis to aid diagnosis and treatment. Insert IV lines, manage catheterization procedures, and operate medical equipment with precision and safety. Provide direct patient care including wound suturing, maintaining patient comfort, and ensuring safety during heavy lifting or mobility assistance. Apply CPR and basic life support techniques promptly during emergencies to stabilize patients until further medical intervention is available. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and hospital policies to ensure patient safety. Qualifications Proven hospital or emergency room experience with a strong understanding of acute care procedures. Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheterization, and specimen collection. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs interpretation. Ability to operate medical equipment such as EKG machines, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitors effectively. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required; additional certifications like ACLS are a plus. Strong communication skills for accurate documentation and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
