Job Description

This role can be filled by a Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Tech (EMT), Paramedic, or Nursing student. Performs the function of an Emergency Department technician in carrying out all assignments under the direction of an RN in the Emergency Department. Is accountable for all patient care he/she gives in the Emergency Department. Is responsible for adhering to all standards of practice and for promoting teamwork among colleagues through collaboration and respect.
ED Tech I Qualifications Minimum Education:
High school graduate
Preferred Education:
Completion of nursing assistant certification training and competency exams as approved by the State Board of Health. Completion of Nursing Fundamentals Course, EMT Course, or Medical Assistant Course.
Minimum Experience:
Effective verbal and written skills. Effective customer service. Computer keyboard skills
Preferred Experience:
One year of healthcare experience preferred
Certifications Required:
Healthcare Provider CPR certification
Certifications Preferred:
Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or EMT Certification ED Tech 2
Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Minimum Experience:
One year paramedic EMS experience preferred.
Certifications Required:
Current Indiana Licensed or Certified Paramedic Healthcare Provider CPR certification ACLS certification PALS or PEPP certification
Certifications Preferred:
BTLS
