Summary Job Description:
ER Tech Full-Time 2 nd Shift Emergency Department I Corbin , KY Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department c ares for a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting with mental health and behavioral health concerns. Professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives
Description:
Assist with patient admission, orientation to room and safety features, and securing valuables. Obtain vital signs, apply cardiac monitors, and perform EKG testing with proper lead placement. Support nurses and providers in patient care, including transfers, discharges, splinting, and wound care. Collect blood, urine, and other specimens following hospital policy. Recognize and report abnormal heart rhythms or vital signs to the care team. Maintain clean, stocked, and safe patient care areas; locate and manage equipment. Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff to promote a positive environment. Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards while participating in required trainings .
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
BLS/ACLS
Glucometer Training Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred. Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred. Preferred (but not required ) : Nursing Assistant experience or prior phlebotomy training/experience is preferred
