Job Description

Summary Works under a Registered Nurse as well as ED Provider to perform delegated medical functions. Assists in the care and treatment of patients of all ages in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards and philosophy in order to provide quality patient care.   • ) at the end of the bullet point. Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Medical, Surgical (inpatient/outpatient), Emergency, Senior Care, Nursery, Chemotherapy and Ambulance Transport as needed/delegated. Maintains certifications in all areas within scope of practice for LPNs, Paramedic, or EMT. Maintains documentation of cares provided to reflect current patient needs utilizing computerized documentation
  • Performs with minimal supervision, exercises good judgment to reduce errors.
  • Demonstrates willingness to work extra shifts if needed.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to train new staff. Attends annual skills fair.
  • Uses personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the given task.
  • Reports accidents or incidents and safety hazards promptly.
  • Cleans equipment, spills, etc. as necessary.
  • Identifies needs, instructs others, and actively supports the role of patient advocate/liaison by communication and documentation of patient information to the proper resources/agencies.
  • Performs functions for HUC, Registration when needed and makes phone calls as delegated from nurse.

Required Education and Experience Current unencumbered EMT, LPN, or Paramedic License in the State of Minnesota. EMT/LPN/Paramedic for minimum of one year and in good standing.
