The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in supporting physicians and nursing staff by ensuring that patients' basic clinical and personal care needs are met. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT provides direct patient care, assists with clinical procedures, and observes and reports changes in patient condition to promote safe, effective, and compassionate care. Principal Accountabilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding, grooming, toileting, and dressing Obtain and accurately record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight Assist patients with mobility and physical activities, including ambulation, transfers, range of motion (ROM), and discharges Perform post‑mortem care according to established protocols Conduct clinical support tasks such as: EKGs Phlebotomy Blood glucose monitoring Observe patients for changes in physical condition, behavior, or mental status and promptly report concerns to the RN Maintain, clean, and stock phlebotomy equipment and supplies Support patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times Perform other related duties as assigned to support unit operations

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Current CPR/BLS certification Ability to perform basic clinical skills such as vital signs, patient transfers, and ADLs Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and stand/walk for extended periods

Preferred:

Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting Experience with phlebotomy, EKGs, and glucose monitoring CNA certification or equivalent Interest in pursuing a long‑term career in healthcare or nursing
