Job Description
Position Goals This job description for the ER Tech at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital provides criteria for the evaluation of an ER Tech as staff in the emergency department. The ER Tech at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital cares for all patients including neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatrics. The ER Tech will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity. Position Responsibilities The staff ER Tech at Patients will be responsible for: 1. Providing, assisting and initiating care of emergency patients. 2. Meeting and maintaining the guiding principles of care for Patients Emergency Room and Hospital 3. Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care. 4. Assists in carrying out orders by physician accurately and efficiently 5. Identifying emergencies and providing necessary intervention 6. Shows initiative and self-direction in providing patient care and support to other co-workers. 7. Communicating appropriately with patients and co-workers 8. Showing knowledge when collaborating with physicians, nurses and other clinical facilities in making decisions about patient care. 9. Administer medications within scope of practice (if policies allow) 10. Other duties as assigned Position Requirements The requirements for employment with Patients Emergency Room and Hospital are: 1. Successful completion of clinical orientation with proven capabilities in skill, knowledge base and vision of Patients Emergency Room and Hospital. 2. Preferred certification of Emergency Medical Technician license (EMT-Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic) 3. BLS, ACLS and
PALS 4. 1
year experience in Emergency Room setting preferred. 5. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding, as outlined in clinical competencies review, of: Age-specific care of the emergency patient Understanding of family dynamics and appropriate interaction Clinical competencies in abnormal lab or test values 6.
