Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary:
The Endoscopy Tech performs assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed by the RN. The Endoscopy Tech supports nursing personnel in providing a safe, quiet, clean, and organized environment for healthcare delivery. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during procedures performed in the department. Responsible for setting up the required equipment and supplies as needed for their assigned cases; pulling equipment/supplies as needed, cleaning scopes at the end of the procedure. Knowledgeable regarding scopes, equipment and supply needs for all types of procedures. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position Requirements:
A.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT certification preferred. BCLS required upon hire. B.Education:
None required C.Experience:
One year of GI Tech experience preferred. D.Special Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic clinical practices, procedures, and standards. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Basic knowledge of computer systems and good interpersonal skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Demonstrates good organizational skills. Performs procedures safely and accurately within the standards of practice. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates professionally and positively with all internal and external customers. III.Degree of Supervision Required:
Involves general guidance and direction by the Department Director, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, or Staff RN.
