BJC HealthCare is seeking a GI Lab professional to support high-quality endoscopic and gastrointestinal procedures in our St. Louis-based health system. Responsibilities Assist with preparation, set-up, and turnover of GI lab procedures, ensuring rooms and equipment are ready and safe. Support physicians and nurses during endoscopic and other GI procedures by handling instruments and supplies. Monitor and document patient status, comfort, and safety before, during, and after procedures per protocols. Perform cleaning, high-level disinfection, and routine maintenance of scopes and GI lab equipment. Verify patient identification, consent, and procedure details, maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR. Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards throughout all GI lab activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate schedules, patient flow, and timely care. Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure instructions and address routine questions. Maintain supply inventory, restock procedure rooms, and report equipment or safety issues promptly. Participate in ongoing training, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives within the GI lab.
