Endoscopy Technician: GI ASC

HAVE ENDOTECH EXPERIENCE

•The Endotech, under the direction of and RN assists with endoscopic procedures and patient care. As a member of the endoscopy team, the endotech has primary functions involving preparation of endoscopic equipment, assisting doctors and nurse during procedures, decontamination and care of endoscopic equipment and supplies. The endotech is also responsible for monitoring supplies for reordering, tracking equipment sent out for repair, and maintaining decontamination room logbooks.

ESSENTIAL DITES AND RESPONSIBIUTIES

include but are not limited to the following: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds Assist patients on and off stretchers. Be able to reach supplies on shelves five feet high. Be able to stand for long periods of time Be able to bend and pick things off the floor Be in general good health. Provide courteous service to patients, staff and significant others.

Performance Standards:

Assists other health care members as needed and when asked. Adheres to procedures, instructions and established routines. Reports concerns and errors to Nurse Manager. Maintains patient confidentiality. Adheres to protective required wear when assisting and performing decontamination and any other time when exposure to blood born pathogens or chemical present a hazard. Ensures procedure room is set up for the day. Sets up the OR endoscopy area and decontamination room for the day Decontaminates endoscopy room and decontamination room surfaces between each procedure.
