Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
The Exercise Physiologist:
Fitness Specialist delivers evidence-based fitness assessments, individualized exercise prescriptions, and health coaching for members across the medical fitness continuum, including individuals with chronic diseases. This role applies exercise science principles, clinical fitness knowledge, and behavior-change strategies to support safe participation, improve functional capacity, promote long-term wellness, and help members progress toward measurable health and fitness goals. The position also collaborates with clinical referral sources and fitness team members, as appropriate, to ensure programs are tailored, properly documented, and aligned with member needs, safety standards, and organizational protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assessment and Exercise Prescription:
Conduct comprehensive health and fitness assessments, including baseline and follow-up measures such as cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, and body composition. Interpret assessment outcomes and develop individualized exercise prescriptions based on member goals, health status, functional ability, and applicable clinical considerations.
Special Populations and Medical Fitness Programming:
Provide targeted exercise programming for members with chronic diseases, or other special health considerations, including conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.
Member Coaching, Education, and Program Progression:
Provide fitness education, coaching, new member orientations, exercise literacy education, and ongoing program adjustments to support safe participation, member confidence, and measurable progress toward health and fitness goals.
Clinical Collaboration and Referral Coordination:
Work closely with clinical referral sources, when applicable, to support safe transitions from clinical to fitness environments and serve as a clinical-program liaison when needed.
Training, Classes, and Fitness Floor Support:
Deliver safe, effective one-on-one and small-group training sessions; support group classes or orientations when assigned; and assist with fitness floor supervision to promote member safety and engagement.
Documentation, Compliance, and Confidentiality:
Document assessments, program plans, progress updates, and related member information while maintaining confidential records in accordance with HIPAA-aligned protocols, organizational standards, and department procedures.
EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE 1
