Organization:
PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation SCD Position Overview:
Play a key role in supporting patients through therapeutic and cardiac rehabilitation programs, ensuring safety through thorough assessment and real-time monitoring. Partner with cardiology and care teams to design and adjust individualized exercise plans based on each patient's condition and goals. Independently lead rehab sessions, monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms, and responding quickly to ensure safe, effective outcomes. Promote a safe environment, ensure proper equipment use, and maintain clear documentation and care coordination to support high-quality, patient-centered care.

STRONGLY PREFERRED SKILLS
Proficiency in 12‑Lead ECG interpretation Experience performing and monitoring cardiac stress testing Strong competency in EKG analysis and rhythm interpretation Hands-on experience with exercise stress testing protocols in a clinical or cardiology setting
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's:
exercise physiology or related field
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
Department, PAMF Cardiology:
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE
2 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics. In-depth knowledge of exercise testing, exercise equipment and quality control. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize independently with follow through in a timely manner. Ability to design, implement, and supervise individualized exercise prescriptions for people with chronic disease and disabling conditions. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
