Job Description
Human Powered Health, a human performance company, provides accessibility to advanced tools and analytics that help all athletes assess and understand their unique physiology to maximize their human potential. Reporting to the Head Performance Physiologist, the Associate Performance Physiologist assists in conducting fitness testing that will lead to the development of individualized programs designed to help athletes achieve their goals. Additionally, this role will be responsible for customer service duties.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Performance Physiologists with the following: Perform exercise assessments with clients. This includes exercise program design, fitness testing, and data interpretation in the areas of body composition, cardiopulmonary function, functional strength and power, bilateral strength, and any other fitness related testing. Conduct on-going fitness consultations for clients, including movement screens, needs analysis, and goal setting to recommend appropriate fitness programming and complementary wellness services. Develop comprehensive progressive fitness programming to support and motivate clients and ensure a positive overall experience. Monitor, engage, and instruct clients on safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength training equipment within the facility. Attend marketing and mobile events to promote the company. Serve as point of contact for new clients and answering questions for current clients. Engage in problem solving and service recovery for client questions and concerns, utilizing appropriate tools and resources. Maintain lab/facility cleanliness by cleaning and organizing lab equipment, retail, etc. Maintain positive customer/client experience by providing the highest quality of service. Maintain updated knowledge to appropriately educate all clients of lab services, events, pricing, and policies. Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or closely related field. Practical experience with a current working knowledge of exercise physiology testing such as cardiopulmonary exercise testing (VO2max, Lactate Threshold, etc.) and Wingate testing. Current knowledge and industry standards of excellence in exercise testing (assessments), exercise prescription (program design), and body composition. Knowledge and ability to operate various fitness tools and equipment such as resistance bands, strength equipment, cardio machines, kettlebells, free weights, foam rollers etc. Enthusiastic, pleasant, approachable, and outgoing demeanor with excellent customer service and positive interpersonal skills. Communicate professionally using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and relay information to and from clients/guests. Competent with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). •Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within the first four weeks of hire date.
