DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide individual support or counseling in general wellness and/or nutrition. Track attendance and participation data related to wellness events. Maintain fitness equipment and facilities, ensuring safe and clean facilities and equipment. Assist with marketing campaigns to promote a healthy lifestyle or participation in fitness and wellness programs. Teach classes to improve strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, or general fitness of participants. Recommend or approve new program or service offerings to promote wellness and fitness. Facilitate fitness or wellness events or programs. Operate, and instruct others in, proper operation of fitness equipment. Conduct or facilitate training sessions or seminars for employees of company. Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job. All other duties as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator or Leadership Team.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and leadership. Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly. Complete and maintain required orientation and annual trainings. Be up to date with completing required QuantiFERON tests, Mantoux tests or chest x-rays. Must pass background study. SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic part-time Wellness Specialist to support our residents and staff in promoting health, fitness, and overall wellness. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field who is interest in gaining hands-on experience working with older adults. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, a positive and encouraging approach, and a genuine interest in helping others maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. For students whose academic program requires an internship, we are also able to work with the selected candidate to fulfill Exercise Science internship requirements as part of the position. Candidates must be comfortbale working with older adults and be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Schedule:
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Some flexibility is available to accommodate classes and other commitments, provided scheduled hours remain within the timeframe.
