(SS&T) is seeking a Joint Exercise Event Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessment Directorate (J7). The Joint Exercise Event SME supports the design, planning, execution, and assessment of standalone joint exercise events, including seminars, tabletop exercises (TTXs), rehearsal-of-concept (ROC) drills, senior-leader discussions, wargames, and related activities. The selected candidate will work with event sponsors, stakeholders, planners, participants, and exercise-control personnel to develop event objectives, scenarios, planning products, data-collection approaches, and after-action outputs.USSTRATCOM/J7
conducts this work to support Command readiness, strategic deterrence, and decision-quality assessment for senior leaders. Security Clearance Requirements This position requires access to classified systems and material supporting national-security programs. All contractor personnel must be U.S. citizens and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, as well as eligibility for NC2/ESI and SAP accesses Required Qualifications At least 7 years of experience designing, planning, and leading seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, or similar projects. Experience in one or more USSTRATCOM-assigned missions and operations at the Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or Service Major Command level. Demonstrated experience conducting joint exercise planning, development, execution, and analysis. Demonstrated ability to develop event objectives, scenarios, scenario triggers, event-flow products, participant guidance, and data-collection methods. Experience supporting or leading exercise planning conferences, working groups, planning teams, and in-progress reviews. Experience producing or coordinating exercise and wargaming documentation, including agendas, conference materials, briefing products, control documents, facilitator materials, lessons-learned products, and after-action reports. Ability to facilitate senior-level discussions and guide participant interaction toward defined objectives and desired event outcomes. Ability to coordinate effectively withUSSTRATCOM
directorates, Components, Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, Services, interagency organizations, allied partners, and other Government agencies. Ability to develop clear, concise, and well-structured written products and oral briefings for senior military and civilian leaders. U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience supportingUSSTRATCOM
joint exercises, wargames, campaign assessments, collective training, or senior-leader training events. Experience with the Joint Event Life Cycle, Joint Exercise Control Group operations, Master Scenario Event List development, exercise-control processes, or Joint Training Tool administration. Experience facilitating tabletop exercises, wargames, senior-leader seminars, or White Cell/player-cell events. Familiarity with Joint doctrine, the Joint Planning Process, joint training requirements, andUSSTRATCOM
mission areas. Experience producing after-action reports, lessons-learned products, hotwash materials, and corrective-action recommendations. Experience supporting events involving interagency organizations, National Security Council processes, allied partners, other Combatant Commands, the White House Military Office, or the National Military Command Center.Benefits include:
