JOB SUMMARY
The Exercise Specialist is responsible for being knowledgeable in safe exercise to assist in improving the components of physical fitness and promoting the prevention of disease and disability. Responsible for demonstrating proper technique on exercises and ensuring the customers are performing exercises in a safe manner, on land or in the water. Responsible for being knowledgeable of standards of practice for the practice for an Exercise Specialist in a community wellness and medical fitness center integrated in a healthcare setting Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality care to adolescents, adult and geriatric clients. Responsible for excelling in courteous and respectful customer service at all times to every customer. Assures the safety of all customers. Effectively communicates with all customers. Effectively communicates & collaborates with other healthcare team members and between intra/inter departments, adheres to organizational policy and procedures, abides by regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards. Assists with the daily operations and collecting statistics within the medical fitness center. Responsible for completing in a timely manner, all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills. Responsible for assuring confidentiality of customer information and departmental information. Requirements Include
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent A bachelor's Degree or pursuing bachelor's degree in field of Exercise Physiology, Exercise Studies, Sports Management or another related field preferred Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Ability to work variable days and hours as necessary. Current CPR certification
