Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Injury Prevention Specialist supports the Herbert R. Temple Readiness Center (TARC) by developing and delivering evidence-based injury prevention assessments, reconditioning programs, recovery education, and return-to-duty support. The position coordinates with human performance and unit medical personnel, trains and mentors TARC staff, and maintains accurate injury-related records. This work helps reduce musculoskeletal injury risk, strengthens readiness, and supports Soldiers returning from injury.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, implements, and adapts multi-level injury prevention assessments and reconditioning programs for TARC personnel across low- to high-risk populations. Develops and maintains an organized database of assessment resources, recovery techniques, rehabilitation guides, and related educational materials. Trains TARC personnel in evidence-based reconditioning and recovery skills to reduce musculoskeletal injury (MSKI) risk and improve return-to-duty outcomes. Coordinates with the human performance team and unit medical personnel to develop and oversee reconditioning programs for Soldiers returning from injury. Coaches and mentors unit Holistic Health and Fitness Integrators (H2F-Is) and medical personnel through technical guidance and hands-on injury-risk assessment training. Records personnel injuries, injury prevention plans, recommended courses of action, and related information in the TARC system of records. Performs routine record maintenance in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 25-50, the Privacy Act, and TARC policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. Certification as an Athletic Trainer or licensure as a Physical Therapist. Active Secret Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or doctoral degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
