PART-TIME COMPANION & EXERCISE/WELLNESS PARTNER SOUGHT IN VERMONT
Location:
Northwestern Vermont, USA Salary:
$50-$65 per hour, negotiable
DOE Contract:
Part-time, Permanent (24 hours p/w, initially)
Status:
Live-out An exceptional and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and personable Companion & Exercise/Wellness Partner to support an active 78-year-old gentleman in a private household in northwestern Vermont. This is a highly personalised, relationship-led position for someone who can combine genuine companionship with a strong understanding of exercise, physical wellness and healthy routines. The successful candidate will become a trusted and consistent presence in the principal's life, helping him remain active, engaged, organised and socially connected while supporting the routines that contribute to his overall wellbeing. The principal lives with Parkinson's disease and already works with a specialist Parkinson's Exercise & Wellness professional, so this role will complement that existing support, and requires an individual who can work collaboratively with other professionals and the wider household team. Professional experience or qualifications in either exercise science, kinesiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, personal training, health coaching, nursing or a related wellness field are essential in order to be considered for this role. Direct experience supporting older adults, particularly individuals living with Parkinson's disease or another neurological condition, would be a significant advantage, and is highly desired. A valid driver's licence and clean driving record are essential, as well as flexibility to travel occasionally when required. Working approximately 24 hours per week initially, there is potential for the role to grow over time. This is a brilliant opportunity to become a trusted member of the principal's support structure, liaising closely with his two personal assistants who manage his calendar, scheduling, and logistics, so essentially helping the principal follow through on appointments, exercise, meals, activities, and commitments that have been scheduled. Ideally, the successful candidate will work a few hours per day, so someone located in the northwestern Vermont area is required.
