Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our small private practice. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively and ensure client safety Provide specialized counseling for issues including grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender identity concerns, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and special education needs Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; record progress notes, treatment plans, and case management activities in electronic medical records Facilitate intake assessments to establish client rapport and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical research standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care Engage in telehealth sessions when appropriate to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for practicing therapists Proven experience working with adolescents or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings. Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including psychotherapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and behavioral management strategies Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation Experience delivering crisis management and crisis intervention services effectively under pressure Proficiency in medical terminology and medical records management; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards Skills in patient assessment, case management, group therapy facilitation, and social work practices Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote therapy sessions is highly desirable Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders; experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with research methodologies is a plus Join our team to empower individuals on their journey toward mental wellness!
