Connections Counseling and Neurofeedback is seeking an Associate Therapist who has experience, training, or a strong foundation in neurofeedback and neuroscience and is interested in integrating both psychotherapy and neurofeedback into their clinical work. This is an ideal position for a clinician who wants to go beyond traditional talk therapy and develop a deeper understanding of how brain function, nervous-system regulation, trauma, and emotional health interact. About Connections Counseling and Neurofeedback Connections Counseling and Neurofeedback is a growing private practice located in beautiful Fallbrook, California. We work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, relational, and nervous-system challenges. Our practice combines traditional psychotherapy with neuroscience-informed approaches, including EEG Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) Neurofeedback, to help clients improve nervous-system regulation and create meaningful, lasting change. We believe mental health treatment is most effective when clinicians understand not only a client's thoughts and behaviors, but also the brain and nervous system underlying those experiences. Who We Are Looking For We are specifically looking for a clinician who is interested in both psychotherapy and neurofeedback.
The ideal candidate will have:
California associate registration in a mental health discipline Previous neurofeedback training, experience, or knowledge preferred A strong understanding of or interest in neuroscience, brain function, and nervous-system regulation Interest in learning or expanding skills in EEG ILF Neurofeedback An understanding of trauma and its impact on the brain and autonomic nervous system Strong clinical skills and a commitment to continued professional growth An ability to think beyond symptoms and consider the neurological, emotional, behavioral, relational, and environmental factors affecting a client Comfort working collaboratively with other clinicians Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, mood disorders, or nervous-system dysregulation is especially valuable. Your Role Depending on your experience, interests, and training, your caseload may include both psychotherapy and neurofeedback clients.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing individual, family, and/or couples psychotherapy Providing neurofeedback sessions within your level of training and competency Developing competency in EEG ILF Neurofeedback and nervous-system-based interventions Integrating neuroscience and nervous-system regulation into clinical conceptualization and treatment Completing clinical assessments and individualized treatment plans Monitoring client response and progress Collaborating with other clinicians when clients receive multiple services Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation Participating in consultation, training, and ongoing professional development Neurofeedback & Neuroscience Neurofeedback is an important part of our practice, so we are particularly interested in applicants who are excited about understanding the brain, not simply providing traditional psychotherapy. We are looking for candidates with previous neurofeedback experience. We are also interested in clinicians who already have a meaningful foundation in neuroscience, trauma physiology, autonomic nervous-system regulation, or brain-based treatment and want to develop greater expertise in neurofeedback. Experience with Othmer Method/EEG ILF Neurofeedback is especially desirable but is not required for the right candidate. What We Offer Innovative Clinical Environment Work in a practice that integrates psychotherapy, neuroscience, trauma-informed treatment, and EEG ILF Neurofeedback. Professional Development Build advanced skills in neurofeedback, nervous-system regulation, and neuroscience-informed mental health treatment.
