About Us Stephanie Young Consultants (SYC) provides behavioral support to individuals living in adult residential facilities. Our mission is to promote safe living environments, meaningful community integration, and improved quality of life through positive behavioral methods and individualized plans. We aim to reduce and prevent severe behaviors that pose health or safety risks by equipping direct care providers with effective strategies, training, and functional replacement skill development. These supports help individuals remain successful in the least restrictive environment. The Behavior Specialist supports a comprehensive service model designed to improve stability, safety, and independence for individuals with developmental disabilities. Position Overview We are seeking a Behavior Specialist who is passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities thrive. This role involves conducting behavioral assessments, developing individualized behavior plans, coaching caregivers, and providing ongoing behavioral support in homes, programs, and community settings. Available shift:
Monday-Friday approximately 25 hours a week Remote and field-based What You'll Do Conduct behavioral assessments and functional behavior analyses Develop individualized behavior plans and evaluate progress Provide in-home and community-based behavioral support Train parents, caregivers, and program staff on intervention techniques Review collateral and identify behavioral trends and risk factors Write annual assessments and plan updates Provide monthly support visits to community programs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Participate in clinical meetings and case reviews Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field. 2+ years' experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Clean driving record, background check, and reliable transportation. Preferred Master's degree (MFT, MSW, or related field). BCBA certification or BCBA coursework in progress. Verbal and/or written fluency in Spanish is a plus; fluency in other language(s) may be preferred based on assigned caseload Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding of mental health and developmental disabilities. Skilled in behavior assessment, plan development, and implementation. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication. Able to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations. Quick learner with the ability to apply new skills and knowledge on the job.
